Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Getplatefully LLC (“Platefully”, “we”, “us”) for using the Platefully app and getplatefully.app. By creating an account or using Platefully, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Platefully.

1. Not medical advice

Platefully provides general information about food products and ingredients. It is not medical, nutritional or dietary advice, it doesn’t diagnose or treat any condition, and it doesn’t replace guidance from your doctor, dietitian or other qualified professional.

Product information can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. It comes from Open Food Facts, from manufacturers’ labels and from automated reading of photos, any of which may contain mistakes, and recipes change. If you have an allergy or a medical condition, always read the package itself before eating a product. You’re responsible for the food choices you make.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 to use Platefully, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms (or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission). Keep your sign-in details secure; you’re responsible for activity on your account. Please give accurate information.

3. Free plan and Premium

• The free plan includes a limited number of scans each month, as described in the app. We may change what the free plan includes.
• Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly through your Apple ID at the price shown in the app before you buy.
• It renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Premium until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
• Payments, refunds and billing questions are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms. If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
• If we change Premium’s price, Apple will let you know in advance, as its rules require.

4. What you add, and sharing with Open Food Facts

Your profile, photos and lists stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them to provide Platefully to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you choose to send photos or product details to Open Food Facts from the app, you confirm they’re your own photos of a product’s packaging, and you agree they’ll be published there under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence, which lets anyone use them. Please don’t include people, personal information or anything else in these photos.

5. Using Platefully fairly

Please don’t misuse Platefully: don’t try to break or overload it, get around its limits, copy its data in bulk, reverse engineer it, or use it to break the law. We may suspend or close accounts that do.

6. Our content

The Platefully app, name, logo, design and writing belong to us. Product data from Open Food Facts is available under the Open Database License. You may not copy or resell our app or content without our permission.

7. Changes and ending

We may update Platefully, add or remove features, or update these terms. If we change the terms in a meaningful way, we’ll let you know in the app; continuing to use Platefully afterwards means you accept the new terms. You can stop using Platefully and delete your account at any time.

8. Disclaimers and limits

Platefully is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made based on information in the app. Where our liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for Platefully in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
